SOFaT First Wednesday: Cameras and Cocktails Networking

MEMBER NEWS:
SOFaT in the Oscars! Two SOFaT members, Gary Kout and Greg Eliason both worked on two films in the upcoming Oscars: Greg Eliason was the Natural History Producer on "Tree of Life", nominated for Best Picture and Best Director; Gary Kout was the Production Supervisor for the live-action "Emotion Capture" reference shoot for "Rango", nominated for a Best Animation Feature. Greg Eliason worked as the 2nd Unit Director on "Tornado Alley," an IMAX film for playing at OMSI in Portland. She is shooting on her new Canon 60D and editing with Final Cut Pro X.
Brooke DeBoer has enlisted the help of fellow member, Matt Doell, and are in preproduction for a documentary following a local Ashland man, Fred Stockwell, who is living and working with Burmese refugees in a Thai garbage dump in Mae Sot Thailand. They are utilizing Kickstarter as a means to kick-off fundraising, trailer coming soon! For more information please visit the project's website: http://www. chopchopproductions.com.
Gary Kout's Motel 6 spot is in post-production for a few months of CGI work and is finishing prep for another Chevy Sonic spot for Slim Pictures and Goodby Silverstein, a follow-up to the acclaimed "Skydive" spot shot this past September.
